Preparing for Your Cleaning

A little preparation helps our cleaners use their time efficiently and focus on cleaning your home!

Please review the steps below, including any sections that apply to your service.

1. Tidy for 5 to 15 Minutes

Please put away personal belongings and clear the floors, countertops, tables, and other surfaces you would like cleaned.

We do not expect the home to be spotless before we arrive. A few minutes of tidying simply allows us to spend more time cleaning instead of moving or guessing where belongings go.

Please note: Areas blocked or covered by belongings may be cleaned around or skipped.

2. Provide Access Instructions

Please make sure we have accurate entry information, including:

  • Door or lockbox codes
  • Key locations
  • Parking instructions
  • Alarm instructions
  • Any special entry directions

If you will be home, please be available around the scheduled arrival time.

3. Secure Pets

Pets must be safely secured before and during service unless another arrangement has been approved by the 302CleanIt office.

Even friendly pets may become nervous around unfamiliar people, cleaning equipment, or open doors.

4. Secure Valuables and Important Items

Please secure:

  • Cash and jewelry
  • Firearms and medication
  • Important documents
  • Collectibles and heirlooms
  • Other valuable or irreplaceable items

Items that could reasonably be mistaken for trash should also be put away.

5. Make Cleaning Areas Accessible

If you would like us to clean behind or beneath heavy furniture or appliances, please move the item before we arrive.

Our cleaners may at times use only a small step ladder (3 steps). They do not:

  • Use taller ladders
  • Move heavy furniture or appliances
  • Climb on counters, furniture, appliances, fixtures, or unstable surfaces

Areas that cannot be safely reached may be skipped.

6. Check Utilities and Indoor Temperature

Please make sure the property has:

  • Running water
  • Working electricity
  • A safe indoor temperature
  • Heat or air conditioning when needed

If required utilities are unavailable, service may need to be limited or rescheduled.

7. Prepare Move-In and Move-Out Homes

Unless otherwise agreed, move-in and move-out cleaning assumes the property is completely empty.

Please remove:

  • Furniture and personal belongings
  • Food and trash
  • Boxes and debris

Cabinets, drawers, closets, refrigerators, and other areas being cleaned inside should also be emptied.

Failing to do the above will result in additional charges and/or an incomplete cleaning.

8. Finish Construction Work Before Cleaning

Construction dust and debris are not included in our standard services unless specifically discussed and included in your quote.

Before a post-construction cleaning:

  • Active construction should be complete
  • Contractors should remove their tools and materials
  • Large construction debris/trash should be removed

9. Contact the Office With Changes

Please contact the 302CleanIt office with any changes involving:

  • Access instructions
  • Scheduling
  • Requested services
  • The condition of the property
  • The approved scope

Cleaners cannot approve additional services, price changes, discounts, refunds, or fee waivers.
